13 Books I Read in 2007 that I blogged about!

Obviously, I read more books than these during the past year. But these are the ones I actually mentioned in my blog. Here goes:

February--My Heart's in the Lowlands: Ten Days in Bonny Scotland , by Liz Curtis Higgs--"After finishing the book, the images and impressions remain, hovering over me like a gentle Scottish mist. One of the dreams of my life is to see Scotland in person, but surely this book is the next best thing."

March--Quaker Summer, by Lisa Samson--"Loved it--vintage Lisa Samson!"

May--Remember to Forget, by Deborah Raney--"...grabs you from paragraph one and doesn't let you go until you've put the book down. In my case, that included some major sleep deprivation, so absorbed was I in the story of Maggie Anderson."

June--The Song Weaver, by B. J. Hoff--"Like a warm visit with a good friend over a hot cup of tea, The Song Weaver offers comfort and satisfaction...and you don't want the visit to come to an end.

Into the Deep, by Robert Rogers--"Both extremely painful and unrelentingly hopeful...as you agonize with Robert Rogers over the loss of his family, you will also rejoice over a faith that is able to sustain a person over the most catastrophic and horrifically painful times."

Return to Me, by Robin Lee Hatcher--"Robin Lee Hatcher has taken the essential elements of the age-old tale [the prodigal son] to spin a modern story of two sisters. And under her skillful pen, the result is an enjoyable and absorbing read."

July--The Restorer, by Sharon Hinck--"...an unusual book, and one that, frankly, I wasn't sure I was going to like. It's a unique blend of fantasy and faith--pretty hard to describe. But as I told Sharon, she grabbed me from the first paragraph. I had a really, really hard time putting the book down--I LOVED it..."

Just Beyond the Clouds, by Karen Kingsbury--"a sensitive, thoughtful story..."

August--One Little Secret, by Allison Bottke--"...absorbing and entertaining...a terrific read"

Deception, by Randy Alcorn--"The story begins grippingly, as Ollie arrives on the scene of a murder that portends a lot of troubling questions for him personally. From that point on, the story doesn't let you go. As a reviewer once said about a book, and I'm paraphrasing, 'Don't plan on doing much else while you're reading this book.'"

September--Let Them Eat Cake, by Sandra Byrd--"I liked this book so much, I scarfed in down almost as fast as I would a piece of my mom's legendary brownie chocolate cake...While I've enjoyed some Christian 'chick lit' lately, some of it can veer into the self-consciously cute and trying a little too hard to be funny zone. Not this book. Sandra Byrd's humor is wryly amusing instead of broadly slapstick, her protagonist's interaction with God believable instead of goofy. "

November--Magic Foods for Better Blood Sugar, by Marianne Wait--"The book is so reader-friendly and informative, I find myself consulting it frequently. ..Best of all, I can see the results in my blood sugar, which has improved so much, I am down to one diabetes pill a day. I guess the proof is in the pudding--or many other recipes in this very helpful book. "

Auralia's Colors, by Jeffrey Overstreet "Even in conversation, Overstreet is a wordsmith, words flowing eloquently and effortlessly to articulate the thought he wants to get across. The book hooked me immediately, and throughout the book I marveled at Overstreet's gift for weaving a story as compellingly as his heroine weaves her magical colors."

I forgot it was Thursday, so I didn't do a TT today.
I like your list, though. I've only read two of those, but there are a couple others on there that I'd like to.

I should resolve to read more in 2008. I really need to just sit down and pick up a book. I have a slew that I bought fully intending to read but never got around to it. You are an inspiration to us lazy readers!
Thanks for visiting my T13!
