Happy Birthday to one of my favorite cities in the world!
Yes, today is the 171st birthday of Chicago! And in honor of that, I'm posting pictures of some of my favorite Chicago memories.
My sister Beverly in front of the painting of Mike Ditka at Ditka's restaurant
My daughter Elizabeth, my mom and sisters in front of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, where "My Best Friend's Wedding" was filmed
A picture I took of Chicago's lakefront from the air
My husband Doug and me at Mamma Mia on our 25th wedding anniversary
View from our hotel window on a weekend trip my husband and I took to Chicago last April
My sister Lisa and me at "Wicked" in Chicago last summer
And finally, a true Chicago moment: my kids singing "Hit the Road Jack" along with musicians at a train station last summer. The voice singing really loudly at the end is my son Justin!

I absolutely believe we would be awesome friends in real life! I love Chicago! Lived there for three years and studied at The Moody Bible Institute. 2 of my 3 kids have lived there and worked at Ed Debevic's, as well as performed at 2nd City and Improv Olympic. Just sent my dad's audition tape in to Wrigley for a chance to sing the National Anthem. See my blog entry dated 2/06/08 Make A Wish
Nothing like a little self promotion. We surely must meet in person!
Another Moody grad here! And also a HUGE fan of the Windy City. My favorite part of the city is the walkway that extends past Navy Pier. We poor college students enjoyed the amazing scenery - for free - and I still believe it is one of the most romantic cities!
Happy Birthday!
Why am I suddenly thinking of this little ditty?
What a fun post. I would love to spend some real time in Chicago.
